About Me

My photo
I'm curious about my immediate world where ever I am and concerned about the world at large. Becoming attached to the places I've lived and visited, I've spent the last 12 years or so in focused observation of the natural world and painting what I see.

I'll be in Ridgway, Colorado at the Ridgway Rendezvous Art and Craft Festival on August, 9th and 10th. Here's hoping for good weather and many visitors to the Festival.

Overdue in posting a few paintings.

Lovely spot to stay in Gila, New Mexico--Casitas de Gila, where Turtle Rock changed with the weather and time of day.

Here's a mid-day view.' Mid-day' found a good home, so is not for sale. The others are available. Contact me for details and prices. lindajwilson809@gmail.com.

Once white, now brown, soon green, it's spring

Here, mid-point between the equator and North Pole, the sun has melted the heart of winter, and spring is reborn within the cold, but pliable mud.  I'm watching every day to catch sight of green spreading across the ground. So far, the green is nestled inside the thatch of last year's grass. It's subtlety is easy to miss. Soon, but I hope slowly enough to observe, many of the seasonal changes evident by this tiny bit of green will play across the land in many textures, shapes, and shades. Daily reassurance that the cycle of seasons is keeping its promise to all of creation. Would that we be as true.

So here are two of my paintings in honor of this time of year. Actually what they portray is a bit later in the season. I'm hoping to finish a painting that brings out the subtleties and promise of early spring.
